Hotel Reforma

We had the family room for 5, which was a very good deal for 2 nights. Hotel had its best days already a while ago, but with the very reasonable price we paid, it was absolutely ok. Besides its a bit morbid charme, main advantage of this place is the location in the inner city of Merida quite close to the Zocalo. Thus it was quite loud during the night with the busy innercity street passing the hotel.

We really liked the colonial atmosphere and the location so close to the main square. However, it's quite noisy at night from the street. Our room (2 double beds and three twin beds) was mostly comfortable but when someone turned on the light in the bathroom in the room next to ours, the light would pour into our room. There shouldn't be glass in the bathroom door. The pool area is pretty, but the water was quite cold. It was great for the price we paid. But if you're a light sleeper, maybe not the best choice.

The location is the best part of this hotel. The place is full with the charm of old Merida but the rooms and bathrooms are small. They get extra points for the breakfast option, the wifi and the pool. The hotel is pet friendly.

Simple hotel in colonial style with small swimming pool inside. Not every room with normal window. Breakfast very simple - some fruits and toasts. Situated in very center of Merida with free parking places not very far from. Not very expensive.

The staff are very friendly and it's very well located just one block from the main square and with free parking nearby. The breakfast is simple but nice. When we arrived they tried to give us a room without windows but when said we wanted windows they gave us one on the first floor. Unfortunately the noise from the street could be heard all night. The beds where comfortable

The location and price can't be beat. Hotel is more worn than online pictures suggest. Pool is much less Instagram ready than those puctures. There's no elevator so ask for a low floor if stairs are an issue. Also the concrete stairs are slightly irregular and can be awkward to walk up/down. Room is very clean and generous in size with quite simple furnishings. Just 2 outlets. AC is weak but room has a large ceiling fan. Area can be a little noisy at night. Higher floor may help with that.

Very nice hotel. Be sure to insist on a room with a balcony if one is available (others don't have windows). There's street noise (a lot!) but it's a better ambiance. The room was clean and the staff are super-friendly, except for that one lady who served us breakfast. It seems a little harsh to be rationing everything from the butter to the coffee. That alone I could live with but not the tone in which I was told about it. Also the air co in our room was out, there's the aforementioned street noise and the rooms are slightly too small for all the furniture they crammed in there: opening a suitcase on the floor is a bit of a challenge (little free space). One more plus: They let us check in a couple of hours early. Of course also the location is just superb.

This place was wonderful. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the hotel was very clean. The pool was gorgeous, and a perfect temperature. Our room had a balcony that overlooked the street. It was a bit noisy since we overlooked the street, but I enjoyed the noise.
